i cannot seem to find any information on which elder/s are assigned to do a shepherding visit on a congregation member.
does one of them have to be the member's field group leader?
can any elders do a shepherding visit at a member's request?
The prescribed method is the service leader and whomever he chooses, maybe a ministerial servant. You can ask for someone else, they will exchange information anyway, especially if any flags are raised.

okay, i haven't been to a meeting in over 17 years and i don't live anywhere near the place i grew up.
i have had minimal contact with my jw family, essentially just occasional phone conversations.
i think they could easily guess that i'm inactive but they pretend not to know and they've never shunned me.

i was recently present at a witness funeral (by zoom) and the brother did do a nice talk about this sister who passed away.
her and her husband had pioneered for many years, but she succumbed to cancer.. in his closing remarks, of course he talked about the resurrection, and remarked how the husband (still alive) would soon be back together with his wife.. certainly fine thoughts, but imagine if this guy ended up getting remarried?

We had a sister die recently. Her husband had been attending zoom with her (terminal) he told the elders she requested a celebration of life without a big religious to do. Brother pushy said we'll see about that!!! Haven't heard of any memorial yet.

Since armageddon is coming the hall needs only stand a few years. The good old wattle and daub with a thatched roof was not as bad as we think. I asked a brother who went to Warwick about the similarity with quick builds. He said the work there was not like the sloppy work in local kh,s. The Ezekiel book is unavailable in paper. Haven't seen any mags either. The line on Ezekiel is that it keeps getting revised so the paper copy is out of date. Maybe Ezekiel should sue for theft of intellectual property.

language is obviously a very important thing.
obviously, language is essential in conveying ideas - without it, we'd be screwed.. but it goes beyond that in terms of its importance.. first, it's a good idea to use accurate language, especially when talking about important things or discussing difficult topics.. second, we should be free to use the words we want to use.
unfortunately, there is an attempt by certain people to control what words we can and cannot say.
That personal pronoun thing is unbelievable. We cannot know some imaginary word.

WT is right in some of their arguments. Dec 25 is wrong date, wise men were 3 years late, and the 3 gifts make it tradition that there were 3 wise men. The other side is that the WT chooses to do anything that can cause controversy.
